about the artist!

Introduction:
My name is Lauren. I am a 23 year old aspiring artist from Sheffield, England. Here is some pictures of me, the first with one of my dogs and the other enjoying a drink.

About me:
As well as making art, I love animals, including my two German Shepherds. I love to collect trinkets and also Lego. Me and my boyfriend have an impressive joint collection. I like to read and write occasionally in my spare time. I love the beach and always feel at one with the ocean (yes, I'm a Pisces). I love being at home with my family but also spending time with my boyfriend.

My Art Journey:
I began my art journey in January 2024. This started with painting Feathers McGraw and SpongeBob Characters. Most of these were by request of my boyfriend. He has been the most supportive person I could ask for and has encouraged me and cheered me on every step of the way.

I enjoyed painting so much that he suggested I start an Etsy to sell my art!

This was great, I was earning money for doing something I loved but I quickly became burnt out and bored of painting the same things. I appreciated all the compliments on my work and was grateful for all the love I received from customers. But still something felt like it was missing.

In December 2024, I decided that my New Year's resolution would be to start a sketchbook. I was determined to try new materials and styles. At first it felt impossible and forced. I was struggling to find my creative flow and often worked straight from a reference.

After some time, I attempted to create digital art, sticking with my original ideas and attempting to create some new art.

After some struggles in my personal life, I was even more determined to try again with my sketchbook. I used my surroundings and inspiration online to create new pieces.
As my confidence grew, I became more aspirational and tried more materials and art styles.
I was loving doing portraits and working with acrylic markers. I became more trusting of the process with my work and had more faith in my skills and abilities.

I decided to start my own website for a want of making it my own style. I wanted it to feel like mine and to be more personable than my Etsy. This is how laurenuuart was born.
